Advertising affirms our fears and desires at least as well as we understand them ourselves and have the disposal of exploiting them. It's more of a psychological approach more than anything. The idea of advertising is to get you to want something that you may or may not need or want. But how does exactly advertising peer pressure us into consumerism?
